Scope and Goals The 2018 IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium (IV'18) is a premier annual technical forum sponsored by the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (ITSS). It brings together researchers and practitioners worldwide to share and discuss the latest advances in theory and technology related to intelligent vehicles. It welcomes articles dealing with any aspect of intelligent vehicles, as well as proposals for workshops and special sessions. Demonstration and Exhibition related to intelligent vehicles are also welcome. Autonomous vehicles have been estimated as one of the top ten emerging technologies in recent years. Google, Tesla, Baidu and other technological companies have taken considerable efforts on autonomous vehicle prototypes. Some autonomous vehicles are already under test on public roads. This workshop will include the exiting great challenges, such as the cost-effective solution of perception, the development of self-driving control strategy from scratch, the enormous computation burden when dealing vast amount of environment variables under real traffic conditions. Experimental work on perception and act-decision for autonomous vehicles are also welcome. This workshop aims to gather researchers in the areas of intelligent transportation and automated vehicles, drive motor system miniaturization and lightweight technology, system integration design method and technology, driving system intelligent control technology, the reliability of the drive motor system and fast evaluation method. Experimental work on perception and act-decision for autonomous vehicles are also welcome. Topics of Interest
